IMS Retrofit™ Preferred Dealers/Installers

Preferred Installers listed here are paid advertisers. Preferred installers have agreed to follow the IMS Retrofit procedures and code of conduct as specified by LN Engineering and their preferred installer status can be revoked at any time due to non-compliance. IMS Retrofit™ Preferred Installer Code of Conduct

  1. Installers are required to perform the pre-qualification procedure prior to carrying out any IMS procedure, including but not limited to inspection of the oil filter and removal of the engine sump pan to inspect for debris.
  2. With the increased prevalence of bore scoring, it is critical that 3.4, 3.6, and 3.8 engines are bore scoped from the sump prior to having an IMS Retrofit or IMS Solution fitted. Any evidence of bore scoring is grounds for immediate disqualification for any IMS procedure. The debris generated from scored bores carries both aluminum and silicon particles small enough to pass though the oil filter, leading to increased engine wear and damage to oil lubricated components including the IMS bearing.
  3. If any debris is found or the original bearing has begun to fail, the installer can carry out an IMS procedure, however there is no warranty. Extra steps must be taken to identify the source of the debris and minimize the chance of collateral damage from foreign object debris, including the installation of a magnetic drain plug, FilterMag and Spin on Filter Adapter (except on IMS Solution).
  4. If the original bearing has failed, a Preferred Installer will NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES perform any IMS procedure.
  5. Vehicles that fail pre-qualification must be reported to LN Engineering, including the VIN number, current owners name, mileage, year, and model, as any bearing fitted to that vehicle will have its warranty voided.
  6. Installers must complete the required bearing registration after any procedure is carried out to activate the limited warranty. This includes, but is not limited to, providing documentation that the pre-qualification (including bore scoping) was carried out. The original IMS bearing must be sent in with the registration. Incomplete registrations will not be processed and there will be no warranty.
  7. Installers found to not be following these directives will have their status revoked.

IMS Solution Certified Installers

IMS SOLUTION CERTIFIED INSTALLERS are required to complete extensive product training, must adhere to the procedure developed and outlined by IMS Solution LLC. IMS Solution Certified Installers must have significant prior experience with the IMS Retrofit procedure and the M96/M97 engine and have taken the requisite training including the WTI M96 101 course to apply for certification.
